The world seems to be getting stranger and scarier all the time, although as a long time cannabis and cannabis prisoner activist, I am sadly well acquainted with heavy handed police tactics.  I fully support the protesters trying desperately to change a system that has LONG needed a complete overhaul.  Please stay safe out there everyone.

OK on to today’s newsletter, which includes the scintillating topic of THC as an aphrodisiac.  Registered nurse Lanny Swerdlow gives us the lowdown.

Oh and PS:  The redesign of the CannabisCheri.com is done.  Click around and have a look.  And if you see any problems or issues PLEASE let me know.  There is always that potential when a big website is re-designed, which is what makes it so daunting sometimes.

The desire for sex, the excitation for sex, and sexual activity all trigger the release of anandamide, a cannabinoid produced naturally by the body that binds to the CB1 and CB2 receptors found abundantly in the brain and just about everywhere else in the body.

Intrinsically involved in feelings of pleasure, anandamide has been euphemistically given the nickname the “bliss molecule.”

Binding to the CB1 and CB2 receptors, anandamide also reduces anxiety and depression, mitigates pain, restores appetite, promotes fertility and even kill cancer cells.

This is one of the reasons people crave chocolate as it contains theobromine which studies have shown to cause the brain to produce more anandamide.

Cannabis is known to produce the same effects as anandamide from pain relief to pleasure, but unlike chocolate, cannabis does not cause the body to produce anadammide.

Easy Marijuana Monkey Bread!

Cannabis Recipes: Easy Overnight Marijuana Monkey Bread

Readers of this site know I don’t normally cook with convenience foods, but this recipe for marijuana monkey bread is an exception. I first had it years ago at a potluck breakfast (minus the pot) at a campground I was staying at in Michigan. Everyone was going crazy for it, so I asked the hostess if I could share her recipe for a travel article I was writing about the area.  She happily obliged. Of course, I have since medicated it!

The recipe could not be quicker or easier to make. Assuming you have cannabis infused butter on hand, it goes together in 5 minutes the night before, then you just pop it in the oven the morning for unbelievably decadent and delicious medicated hot marijuana monkey bread (think ooey gooey cinnamon bread).
